Cabernet Sauvignon, Carmenere, Sauvignon Blanc, Malbec- these are the trademarks of Chile’s Maipo, Colchagua and Casablanca valleys, and Argentina’s Mendoza. Add delicate king crab, fresh surf clams or tender grass finished beef and you have captured the essence of Chilean and Argentine cuisine. This nine day excursion takes you to the best of Buenos Aires, Mendoza, wine valleys, coastal resorts and Patagonia.

Day One, Sunday
Arrive Buenos Aires international airport. Reception by Anglatin Ltd.® Transfer to city center hotel. Free time. Comprehensive guided city tour. Classic Argentine dinner with a breathtaking Tango Show.
Overnight Buenos Aires

Day Two, Monday
Breakfast. Today, a full day excursion to the Pampas. Take in all the activities of a typical estancia (ranch) including the Gauchos working the cattle, preparing a parrillada (barbeque) and entertaining. Return to Buenos Aires for a free evening strolling the lively streets, catching some live music and visiting the shops. Overnight Buenos Aires

Day Three, Tuesday
Breakfast. Visit the Liniers livestock auction yards and see thousands of cattle being bought and sold. Transfer to the Buenos Aires international airport and fly to Santiago, Chile. Transfer to Providencia, an upscale suburb of Santiago. Comprehensive guided city tour. In the evening, classic Chilean dinner with folk music and dancing. Overnight, Santiago

Day Four, Wednesday
Breakfast. The Maipo valley boasts Chile’s most famous original wineries. Today is dedicated to visiting these wineries and getting to know their wines. Included is a gourmet lunch at Santa Rita with a stroll in the elegant original colonial gardens. Return to Santiago. Free evening to discover the exciting night life in the hotel neighborhood. Overnight Santiago

Day Five, Thursday
Breakfast. Depart toward the Pacific ocean, passing through the 2800 meter Lo Prado tunnel, the rich agricultural valley of Curacaví, the 1800 meter Zapata tunnel and finally the emerging wine valley of Casablanca. Take a guided tour and taste the fine wines at one of the more modern wineries in the valley. Lunch at the winery is included. Continue through the pine forests to Viña del Mar and check-in at the beachside hotel. Free evening to stroll the ocean front. Overnight Viña del Mar

Day Six, Friday
Breakfast. Comprehensive guided Tour of Valparaiso, Chile’s Heritage for Humanity city, and Viña del Mar, Chile’s garden city. Group lunch overlooking the busy port. After lunch, and excursion along the rocky coast to visit fishing villages and seaside resort towns. Return to Viña del Mar to catch some afternoon sun, check out the shops, visit museums, stroll the gardens or try your luck at the casino. Overnight Viña del Mar


Day Seven, Saturday
Breakfast. Transfer to Santiago’s international airport. Flight to Mendoza, crossing over the Andes under the shoulder of towering Mt. Aconcagua, the highest in the Western Hemisphere. Transfer to hotel in Mendoza’s city center. Walking tour of the plazas, market streets and quiet tree lined streets of central Mendoza. Free evening to try the wonderful Italian cuisine. Overnight Mendoza

Day Eight, Sunday
Breakfast. Today is dedicated to knowing the wonderful wineries and wine of this unique region. Very traditional family wineries are opening their doors to visitors and treat you like old friends while they show off their Malbec, Merlot and Syrah. In addition to competing to produce the best wines, there is now a competition for the fanciest wine tasting room. Lunch at one of the wineries is included. Overnight Mendoza

Day Nine, Monday
Breakfast. Excursion to the Redentor pass with visits to archeological and geological sites in the foothills of the high Andes. Return to Mendoza. Farewell lunch. Transfer to the airport and flight to Buenos Aires. Connect to homeward bound flight, or to Patagonia for an optional exciting extension
