Original root stocks were brought from France beginning in the 1850’s. The first plantings were in the Maipo valley, with its excellent soils and perfect grape climate. Now, Chile’s world class wines are produced in the Aconcagua, Cachapoal, Colchagua, and Maule Valleys. More recently the Casablanca valley has become the major producer of white wines, and now the San Antonio valley is developing rapidly. Anglatin’s ten day wine tour takes you to all of these most famous wine producing regions and gets you close to the viticulturalists, enologists, the grapes and the wines.
