The Argentine tango is for dancing! It evolved during the last decades of the 19th century and is a product of the suburban slums of Buenos Aires. In the beginning it was all improvisation. There was no phonograph so each musician and each pair of dancers created their own style. But with the arrival of recorded music, the styles converged to what we now enjoy as one of the most beautiful and interesting music and dancing forms. This tour exposes you to the roots, and the dramatic present of Argentine Tango.

This tour also immerses you in the one of the world’s greatest wine regions, Chile. Despite a winemaking heritage that dates from the conquistadores of the sixteenth century, it is only since the early 1980's that Chile became a viticultural paradise. Chile’s geographic isolation kept the phylloxera plague out allowing the blockbuster Cabernet Sauvignons, Merlots, Carmeneres, and Sauvignon blancs to still be produced on original Bordeaux rootstock. This tour takes you to the top wine valleys, including the very traditional Maipo and the newly emerging Casablanca.
 
Day 1
Arrival al Eseiza International Airport in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Greetings by Anglatin. Transfer to hotel. Free time. In the afternoon, a City Tour of the City of Buenos Aires including the Historical Plaza de Mayo (May Square) the site of the National Government. Located here is Governmental House Casa Rosada (Pink House)  is located,  the Cathedral and the Historial Cabildo. We continue along  Avenida de Mayo with architectural examples from the 19th century and arrive at the Congress building. Our tour continues south, to the oldest part of the city, and the La Boca District. This is the largest typical Italian quarter and is home to a large colony of artists. It features a popular painters market on Saturdays and Sundays. Afterwards, we will visit San Telmo, a paradise for antique lovers. We then continue north to July 9th. Avenue to see the famous Obelisk, the symbol of the city. Next is La Recoleta Quarter, where French architectural influence in the houses, apartments, shops, streets, cafes and restaurants. Finally we arrive at Palermo Chico, with plenty of old-aristocratic residences. Overnight, Buenos Aires

Day 2
After breakfast. We prepare ourselves for the most exciting full day tour to the Pampas where we get in touch with the Gaucho’s life in a typical “Estancia” (Ranch). On arrival, passengers will be welcomed with “Empanadas Criollas” (Little meat pies) and first quality Argentinean wines. Afterwards, they will have the typical “Asado” lunch (barbecue), an unforgettable spectacle consisting of meat broiled over open fire, onions, and a variety of vegetable salads. After lunch, we see a genuine tango and folkloric show. The field day ends with an exhibition and mixed and matched horse herds and the local horseback sport called “carreras de sortijas” (ring races), which show the remarkable skill of the gauchos on their horses. Return to hotel. Overnight, Buenos Aires.

Day 3
Breakfast. Free day to explore the cafés and avenues, many bookstores. In the evening, we depart for a Dinner and Tango show at El Querandi. Following a change of use in the 1920's to a bar, the original structure of this 1860 building was restored in 1922, and a special recognition was conferred on "Esquina Carlos Gardel" Restaurant by the museum of the City of Buenos Aires. This historical venue is located near the Government House, The Cathedral and the Plaza de Mayo. Today El Querandi offers to the true “aficionado”, a genuine exploration of the development of the tango from its beginnings in the 20's to the current day. Guests can also enjoy an Argentinean dinner before the evening’s show commences. Return to hotel. Overnight Buenos Aires.

Day 4
After breakfast check out and transfer to the International airport to flight to Santiago, Chile. Greetings by Anglatin. Transfer to the hotel. Free time to relax. In the afternoon, a city tour along the major avenues, civic center, and La Moneda Palace. The traditional Plaza de Armas, surrounded by important buildings such as the Cathedral, the Historical museum and Central post office, are also included.  The beautiful Central Market building features a color sample of fruits, seafood and flowers.  We continue to the San Cristóbal hill where we enjoy a magnificent view of the city.  Spread before us are the skyscraper, high rise apartment buildings and elegant residential areas, all constructed in the last two decades.  We also tour around El Golf and Las Condes areas.  Our trip continues to an exclusive crafts shop where we find the finest jewelry and handcrafts. Return to the Hotel. In the evening  we experience a typical Chilean dinner with  Show. This is a folk with typical music from differents regions of the country and dances that represents those regions. You will have a good chance of dancing and experience a typical drink call “Pisco Sour”. Overnight, Santiago

Day 5
Breakfast and departure for a full day excursion to Maipo Valley wineries, the most traditional in the area. Visiting Concha y Toro winery,  located in Pirque since the 19th-century. Don Marques of Casa Concha y Toro and his wife built a fine country house in Pirque with a 25 hectare park stretching to the banks of the Maipo river. In 1994 Concha y Toro became Chile’s biggest wine producer. The area of vineyard owned has been extended to 3,300 hectares divided over more than ten locations. We continue to the Santa Rita winery where we find more than 30 hectares of trees, shrubs, flowers and lakes tucked away behind the winery. In the second half of the 19th century, Domingo Fernández Concha built a mansion and planted a vineyard with French vines. The mansion was used as a hiding place for Bernardo O’Higgins, the General who won independence for Chile. Santa Rita exports a million cases of wine per  year. Lunch takes place in the winery restaurant. Return to hotel. Overnight, Santiago.

Day 6
Breakfast, departure to Viña del Mar and Valparaiso. Our  two-hour drive passes through the Curacaví and Casablanca valleys, where Veramonte, one of Chile’s most striking  wineries, is located. The architecture combines French chateau with  up-scale  Californian style. This winery opened in 1998. Lunch at one of the wineries. Our trip continues to the picturesque port of Valparaiso. The city climbs the hills through alleys and public stairs.  A tour along the narrow avenues of the port and Plaza Mayor features a spectacular view of the bay and the hillside architecture. Our time in Viña del Mar includes a visit to the  Plaza Vergara and the casino. We visit a wine house where we can buy Chile’s finest wines.  Finally, we visit the famous beaches: Las Salinas and Reñaca. Overnight, Viña del Mar.

Day 7
Breakfast.  We will visit Valparaíso’s many streets including Valparaíso Av., Francia Av., and Alemania Av. We will see 21 de Mayo public park, Sotomayor Square, the oldest area, the Congress Building, O´ Higgins Square, Neruda’s House “La Sebastiana” and the typical wavy streets. Lunch in Valparaíso. Overnight Viña del Mar.

Day 8
Breakfast and check out. Transfer to the International airport in Santiago. End of Services
