Slovakia in one of the most rapidly growing and modern nations to come out from behind the Iron Curtain. It is small, but full of a wonderful variety of scenery, culture and spirit. Many villages feel like 19th century Europe, and are alive with history.

Slovakia has also become famous for its livestock genetics. This tour takes you to some of the best breeders and brings you close to the experts and Slovakian agriculture.

Day 1st Monday
Bratislava - the capital of the Slovak Republic. Bratislava sightseeing, lunch. Two farms visits around Bratislava, Simmental Fleckvieh & Holstein cattle breeding. Dinner and wine tasting in Little Carpathian Wine Region

Day 2nd Tuesday
Morning Simmenthal farm visit. Transfer to Nitra - "Cradle of the Slovak History", agricultural & christian center of Slovakia. Excursion to the dairy company, incl. tasting their dairy products. Lunch together. Afternoon meeting professionals and researchers at the Research Institute of Animal Production, the only research institution of this kind in Slovakia with about 40 years tradition, or meeting experts and lectors from the Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra - the only university of this kind in Slovakia. Possible short Nitra city sightseeing in the evening. Dinner & overnight in Nitra or close to Nitra.

Day 3rd Wednesday
Morning visiting brewery. Then visiting two Simmenthal farms with free stahl and traditional tide stahl, preserved breeding herd of S in Slovakia. Lunch. Visiting Holstein & Simmental farm, embryotransfer of Simmental cattle, preserved breeding herd of S in Slovakia. In the evening transfer to Central Slovakia, dinner & overnight.

Day 4th Thursday
Visiting the A.I.Station of INSEMAS Ltd. in Zvolen, joint-venture with SEMEX Alliance, meeting the General Director, presentation of bulls - at the moment 16 young Simmental bulls from Germany for young sire testing program. Visiting cattle farm with 90 % Simmental cattle, plus rearing of heifers, preserved breeding herd of  S. Visiting very good small farm, Simmental herd, plus horse breeding. Transfer to Zvolen for dinner and overnight.

Day 5th Friday
Visiting private agricultural company, dairy farm and pig farm, annual production 5000 pigs to slautherhouse Hrádok a.s., what is cca. 20 piggies for 1 saw. Lunch on the way. Transfer to the airport for departure home or dinner, overnight and departure next day.*

Day 6th Saturday*
In case of 6-days tour, on the 3rd day we would cut it short and transfer the group to the High Tatras mountain area - very beautifull in the winter time. On the 4th day visiting cattle farm farming in difficult mountain conditions. At the evening arrival to back to the hotel. Next day transfer to the airport for departure home
