Many of our presidents, from George Washington, our first president, to John F. Kennedy, one of the most beloved presidents, were born, educated and made their careers in Virginia, Pennsylvania, New York or Massachusetts. This spectacular tour takes advantage of this geographical proximity and in nine days introduces you to the lives of presidents Washington, Jefferson, Lincoln, Wilson, Roosevelt, Eisenhower and Kennedy. Other famous political leaders and statesmen are included, as well as famous sites such at the Gettysburg Civil War battleground, the Liberty Bell and Benjamin Franklin square. Day 1, Sunday
Arrive Washington DC. Airport reception by Angaltin. Transfer to hotel in Washington DC area. Free time. Walking visit to the Lincoln and the Jefferson memorials. Welcome dinner. Overnight Washington DC Area
Day 2, Monday
Breakfast. Guided tour of the White House. Visit to the Washington monument. Lunch. Guided tour of the US Capitol building. Free time to visit the art, air and space, natural history, and many other museums surrounding the mall. Overnight Washington DC Area
Day 3, Tuesday
Breakfast. Tour of Mt Vernon, the home of America’s first president, George Washington. Lunch. Tour of Monticello, the home of President Thomas Jefferson. President Jefferson oversaw a tripling in the size of the United States and encouraged a spirit of self-sufficiency and entrepreneurship. Overnight Washington DC Area
Day 4, Wednesday
Breakfast. Travel to Gettysburg, site of the most famous Civil war battle, and President Lincoln’s Gettysburg address. Visit the well preserved battlefield and village. Lunch. Visit Dwight Eisenhower’s family farm. Dwight D. Eisenhower was a World War II leader who as president, presided over America’s longest expansionist period and instigated the national interstate highway system. Overnight Gettysburg
Day 5, Thursday
Breakfast. Travel to Philadelphia. City tour of Philadelphia including the sites of the writing of the Declaration of Independence, the writing of the US constitution, and the liberty bell. During the war of the independence several future presidents, as well as political leaders (Benjamin Franklin, Alexander Hamilton..) lived in Philadelphia and created the political and governmental base for the emerging nation . Lunch. Free time to explore the many historical sites.
