The cornbelt is Illinois and Indiana. But these states are also very important in beef and pork production. This tour features some of the best and largest beef and pork producers in the US, plus lots of corn, soybeans, and classic middle America countryside. Family farms, organic growers and low technology farms are also included. The people are super friendly and straight talking. The skies are blue, soil black, fields green and the roads run straight for 30 miles. This is the heart of America!

Day 1, Sunday
Arrive Chicago. Reception by Anglatin Ltd.® Transfer to hotel in downtown Chicago. Guided city tour including the Sears Tower, the Navy Pier and shopping districts. Evening dinner and tour orientation. Overnight Chicago

Day 2, Monday
Breakfast in hotel.  To Chigaco board of trade. Visit the trading gallery and observe the lively action as hundreds of buyers and seller trade in agricultural and other commodities. Adjourn to the board room for a workshop with market officials. Learn how world prices are made at this market and how it is structured. To the Mercantile Exchange and observe the market in action. Group lunch. Afternoon cruise on the Chicago river viewing this busy city from the water. Overnight Chicago

Day 3, Tuesday

Breakfast in hotel. Depart to De Kalb, Indiana. Workshop with the Indiana Farm Bureau Federation, featuring the structure and situation of agriculture in the US Midwest. Group lunch at Farm Bureau agricultural center. Tour typical beef cattle feeding operation. Interview owner regarding his beef management, and his corn, soybean and grain production practices. Meet the farm family. Visit typical dairy farm and interview the owner. Visit the principal farm supply store of the area. Overnight DeKalb

Day 4, Wednesday

Breakfast in hotel. Depart to Lafayette, Indiana passing rolling corn, soybean and grain fields. Stops en route to view the livestock and visit the rural villages. Group lunch. Arrive West Lafayette, Indiana.  Workshop at Purdue University with agriculture faculty. Discuss livestock economics. Guided campus tour. Overnight LaFayette

Day 5, Thursday
Breakfast at restaruant. Visit Purdue University Animal Research Unit. Interview with Unit administrator and see research with hogs and cows. Group lunch. To Delphi, Indiana, in the center of swine production region. Visit major hog breeder and hog farm of the region. Interview regional swine specialist, meat packing plant manager and grain elevator manager. Visit farm that produces beef, pork, poultry and turkeys with the use of petroleum products or electricity. Overnight LaFayette

Day 6, Friday
Breakfast in restaruant. To Rensellear, Indiana. Interview regional livestock specialist. Tour the largest dairy in Indiana. Group lunch at the dairy. Visit a typical cow-calf operation. Interview owner. Tour a small family dairy. Interview the family. To Logansport and interview regional livestock specialist. Visit a feed mill and grain elevator. To Elkhart, center of the Amish community. Overnight Elkhart

Day 7, Saturday
Breakfast in hotel. Visit Amish livestock farms and interview owners. Visit craft shops and typical Amish homes. Transfer to Chicago.Overnight Chicago

Day 8, Sunday
Breakfast in hotel. Transfer to international airport. Flights home.
