<< Go Back

The environment of Gaucho was the flat grasslands that reach from the Argentine Patagonia to the state of Rio Grande, the Brazil. Skillful horsemen, the Gauchos lived a rugged life in these wild lands caring for the cows and sheep that produced much of Argentina’s and Brazil’s wealth.  They were famous for their courage, pride in their skills and dedicated to personal liberty and freedom. Making their home on the estancias of hundreds of thousands of hectares, they developed their horsemanship to a fine art. Their strong character was derived in part from the Guarani race.
