Tour Royden Downs, a 245 hectare agriculture and forestry property with 150 hectares planted to commercial forest, and conservation. Interview manager. Tour the property. Continue to rotarua. Hotel check-in. Free evening to enjoy the cultural sights and excellent restaurants. Overnight Rotorua

Tuesday,
Breakfast. Tour commercial deer farm. Interview owner. Tour the Agrodome, site of agricultural exhibitions. Group lunch at the Agrodome. Enjoy the farm show exhibiting the most interesting aspects of New Zealand agriculture. Continue to Te Puia and the Whakarewarewa Thermal Reserve and the Maori Arts and Crafts Institute. See Maori carvers at work and visit the thermal reserve. The reserve has boiling mud pools and the spectacular Pohutu geyser. In the evening participate in the Maori hangi and cultural experience. Breakfast. Travel through pine plantations and past dairy farms to the Orakei Korako Thermal Valley. Visit Huka falls. Group lunch in Taupo followed by a relaxing cruise on the lake. Breakfast. Transfer to Auckland airport. Flight to Melbourne. Transfer to domestic airline. Flight to Hobart, capital of Tasmania. Redeption at airport by Anglatin and ANF Agritours. Breakfast. Travel to Launceston. Visit private forest plantations and discuss harvesting techniques for native and introduced species. Visit the historic village of Ross. Group lunch at typical Tasmania farm. Conversation with farmers. Visit the Forest Eco Center at Scottsdale and inspect Tasmanian specialty timbers. Seminar on sustainable forestry production. Breakfast. Flight to Melbourne. Travel west to the Western District. Tour one of the larger farm-forestry operations. Talk with owner about his farm and forestry management plan. Group lunch. Meet with local landowners and discuss forestry practices and policy in the state of Victoria. Tour major Landcare project and see demonstration of forestry techniques. Breakfast. Travel north to Albury on the Murray River. Tour commercial plantation specializing in firewood production. Group lunch. Continue to Tumut in the Snowy Mountains. Tour Radiata Pine plantation. Interview manager regarding varieties, productivity and conservation. Continue to Tumut in the Snowy Mountains. Tour Radiata pine plantations. Meet manager and discuss forestry practices. Visit farm forestry operations and interview owners. Transfer to hotel. Free evening. Overnight Tumut area

Tuesday,
Breakfast. Travel to Canberra. Visit small and medium farm forests. Interview owners. Visit parliament house and Australian War Memorial in Canberra. Group lunch. Continue to Sydney. Visit commercial Radiata Pine and Eucalyptus plantations. Tour farm typical of the area. Interview owner. Visit cooperative project of Greening australia/Landcare Australia. Hotel check-in. Sydney Harbor dinner cruise. Overnight Sydney

Wednesday,
Breakfast. City tour of Sydney. Hotel check-out. Transfer to airport. Flight to the United States. (Arrival Wednesday because of recrossing the international date line)
