What is the Accessibility?

Web accessibility is the universal access to the Web, independent of the social and demographic circumstances, the involved devices is understood by accessibility and the capacities of the own users at the time of acceding to the information.

Under this context, the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) gave way to the Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI), the entity responsible for unifying technological knowledge and research on issues related to accessibility, in order to create guidelines for accessibility in the Web to facilitate access to it by individuals with some degree of disability.

These guidelines are structured in 14 topics dealing with a certain amount of checkpoints to detect possible errors in the design of a web page, thus giving the necessary guidelines for the development of a website to insure the total access information under different circumstances.

If the information contained in this site is accessible for all people, InterMedia – as a company developer of this site on has undertaken to implement the guidelines laid down by the WAI accessibility, as well as applying the standards of the W3C in their standards more stringent.

The development and content of this site have been validated by the Web Accessibility Test (TAW) performing AAA level, in addition to complying with the standards of programming by the W3C connection established with the use of language XHTML 1.0 strict.

We have used cascading style sheets (CSS) for formatting visual information and content has been separated from the deployment of graphical information, in order to allow access and proper display of the information under different environments.

The texts presented on the site have font sizes configurable by the users, and also by the text options from various browsers. It also showed the correct visualization of the site in the different versions of the major browsers (Internet Explorer 6, Mozilla Firefox, Opera and Safari).
